# Baltic airport transport: Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius into the city

> The three Baltic capitals have three very different airport rides. All are cheap. Only one has a proper train.

The Baltics are among the easiest airport-to-city journeys in Europe. Distances are short, taxis are regulated, and Bolt (the local ride-hail giant) works flawlessly at all three.

## Tallinn (TLL)

[Tallinn Airport](/airports/tll-tallinn) is only 4 km from the old town — closer than most subway rides. Tram 4 runs from directly outside arrivals to the city centre in 15 minutes for €2. Bolt is €5–8. Taxis at the rank are metered and honest, around €10–12.

## Riga (RIX)

[Riga Airport](/airports/rix-riga) is 10 km from the centre. Bus 22 runs every 10–20 minutes to the old town for €2 (buy on board with contactless). Bolt is €8–12. Airport taxis have a fixed €15 fare posted at the rank — don't accept a "meter is broken" upsell.

## Vilnius (VNO)

[Vilnius Airport](/airports/vno-vilnius) has the region's only proper airport train — €0.90 for a 7-minute ride to Vilnius central station. It runs roughly hourly. Bolt is €6–10. Bus 88 also runs for €1.

## What to know

- All three cities use Bolt as the dominant ride-hail app, not Uber.

- Cards accepted everywhere — you rarely need cash.

- Airport taxi ranks are properly regulated in all three; the "gypsy cab" problem is essentially zero.
