You've landed in China. You're tired. Everyone at the arrivals hall wants to sell you a ride. Here's how each of the main airports actually works — the ride app that works, the fair fare, and the transit option worth taking.

## The rules for China

**Ride apps:** Didi is the only ride app that matters — set it up before you land, ideally with a foreign-card-friendly wallet.

**Cash vs card:** Cash is nearly dead; you'll want Alipay or WeChat Pay set up with a foreign card.

**Golden rule:** never take an unmarked car from someone approaching you inside the terminal. Walk to the official taxi rank or open your ride app.
