## The rules for Japan

**Ride apps:** GO is the dominant taxi app; Uber Taxi and DiDi also work in Tokyo and Osaka.

**Cash vs card:** Cash and IC cards (Suica/ICOCA/Pasmo) beat foreign credit cards for transit and small shops.

**Golden rule:** never take an unmarked car from someone approaching you inside the terminal. Walk to the official taxi rank or open your ride app.
